Matt Butler
Head Coach & Founder
Matt is the founder of The Performance Project and a Senior Endurance Coach with over a decade of experience in high-performance sport.
He has coached athletes from first-timers through to national-level competitors across running, triathlon, and obstacle course racing.
His coaching philosophy is built on honesty, accountability, and doing hard things. He believes every athlete deserves a coach who gives a damn.
Athletes working with Matt can expect direct communication, structured programming, and a coach who is invested in their long-term development.
Anthony
Senior Endurance Coach
Anthony is a Senior Endurance Coach with over five years of experience in endurance sport. His background spans personal training, running, and short and long course triathlon.
He coaches athletes at every level — first-timers building confidence through to experienced age-groupers chasing a PB. His approach is structured, supportive, and built around the individual.
Anthony believes in the connection between physical movement and mental wellbeing. He's experienced firsthand how endurance sport builds resilience, mindset, and confidence — and brings that understanding to every athlete he coaches.
Athletes working with Anthony arrive at the start line physically prepared and mentally ready.
Zoe
Endurance Coach
Zoe is an Endurance Coach with a background in middle-distance running, half marathon, and marathon. She has represented Australia at multiple World Championships in Kona, Hawaii.
She works full time in the Defence Force and has spent over a decade leading teams and helping people perform under pressure.
Her coaching style is supportive, realistic, and tailored to the individual. She understands what it means to train alongside a full-time job, a family, and everything else life throws at you — because she does it herself.
Athletes working with Zoe can expect honest communication, a coach who pushes when it counts, and the support to build the confidence to do what they set out to do.
